The Liberty Bell is the iconic symbol of American independence. On July 8, 1776 it rang to symbolize America’s independence from Great Britain. Written on the bell is the bible verse: "Proclaim Liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof." Historians say that there have been two cracks. The first one happened in 1752 when it was tested on its arrival in Philadelphia. Then the bell was restored. The 2nd crack occured in February 1846. It stopped ringing because of this major crack. As a commemoration this major icon in American history will now be issued in 4 ounce pure silver as a stunning 3 dimensional coin.
